Alexandra Drakoulaki (she/her) is a dramaturg, maker, theatre facilitator, English teacher, and writer born and raised in Greece and based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
She holds a Master’s Arts in Contemporary Theatre, Dance, and Dramaturgy, from the University of Utrecht, where she mastered academic thinking, writing, and researching about and through the performing arts field.
Her Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Athens equipped her with lots of theoretical and hands-on knowledge about the Anglophone world, including linguistics, literature, theatre, translation, education, and cultural studies, among others. Through this widening of horizons, she was exceptionally enchanted by the field of theatre studies which she still considers as a meeting point for all expressive means where reflection and creativity can thrive. Thus, upon completing her undergraduate studies she was determined to pursue a postgraduate career with a program that would deepen her understanding of the contemporary performing arts world.
The present day finds her having accomplished her goal, yet continuing to search for educational opportunities that will keep her in the humble position of the lifelong learner, developing individual, considerate being.

She self-identifies as a curious, eager individual with a constant urge to explore new perspectives and aspects around and within her. She loves thinking, reading, writing, but, above all, meeting, conversing, and collaborating with people she can share a common love for performing arts with.
Her main aspiration - both personally and professionally - is to encourage the polyphony, heterogeneity, and diversity that exist in the world to be included in and communicated through the performing arts field, enabling, as such, people to embrace the fluidity and openness of life.
She is currently doing so by generating her own content, writing reviews, designing workshops, while endlessly studying, reading, researching, traveling - overall, broadening her scope.
